The Position

The Director of Advancement leads the fundraising activities of St Paul’s Episcopal School while collaborating with the Directors of Marketing and Community Life to advance the school’s overall mission. Working closely with the Head of School, the senior administrative team, the School’s Board of Trustees, and the Foundation’s Board of Directors, this position will lead a team directed with long and short term fundraising, grant writing and major gift solicitation. The Director of Advancement is tasked with developing and leading a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused upon best meeting the school’s current and future capital needs through private gifts, planned giving, and foundation grants. He or she is also responsible for leading the development team in day-to-day execution of the strategy, including personal donor development, campaign execution, and general administration.


The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2023.

The School

St. Paul’s Episcopal School is an independent, church affiliated, coeducational college preparatory school. The school was founded in 1947 and offers a rigorous academic program of two semesters supplemented by summer offerings and by extensive athletic, artistic, spiritual, and community service activities. The school occupies two campuses including a thirty-two acre campus in the Spring Hill area of Mobile, Alabama, a city whose metropolitan population exceeds 400,000. The facilities include a 500-seat auditorium, a wireless campus, three libraries, three computer labs, state of the art science labs, a creative writing lab, an innovations lab, three gymnasiums and an outdoor athletic complex. There are 1250 students in grades PreK through twelve served by 182 faculty members and staff; more than 73% of administration and faculty hold master or doctorate degrees. St. Paul’s is accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools.
