The Position

The Director of Advancement leads the fundraising activities of St Paul’s Episcopal School while collaborating with the Directors of Marketing and Community Life to advance the school’s overall mission. Working closely with the Head of School, the senior administrative team, the School’s Board of Trustees, and the Foundation’s Board of Directors, this position will lead a team directed with long and short term fundraising, grant writing and major gift solicitation. The Director of Advancement is tasked with developing and leading a comprehensive fundraising strategy focused upon best meeting the school’s current and future capital needs through private gifts, planned giving, and foundation grants. He or she is also responsible for leading the development team in day-to-day execution of the strategy, including personal donor development, campaign execution, and general administration.

Saint Mary's School - Assistant Head of School

Assistant Head of School for Student Experience | Raleigh, NC

The Position

The Assistant Head of School for Student Experience is charged with the comprehensive responsibility of all curricular and non-curricular development and activities involving students, faculty and staff at Saint Mary’s, enhancing these programs in consultation with the Head of School and other key administrators.

The Assistant Head is responsible for motivating and leading the faculty in the development and delivery of a state of-the-art curriculum focused on intellectual growth and moral character in adolescent girls while maintaining positive, effective communications with parents and other key constituents in the community. The Assistant Head also provides leadership for the student experience, in keeping with the School’s Mission and Guiding Principles, and with a specific focus on residential life, athletics, student leadership, internships, extracurricular programming, and student activities.

The Assistant Head encourages enthusiasm for the school’s special culture by cultivating a strong sense of community in which all know they belong and are respected, challenged, and supported. The Assistant Head must assist the Head of School in development of a school culture commensurate with the school’s mission: to educate girls for college and life. The Assistant Head of School for Student Experience reports directly to the Head of School.

North Cross School is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to partner with the Head of School, lead a staff of 4, and build the philanthropic support for the school and the engagement of key stakeholders. Reporting to the Head of School, the Director of Development creates, implements, and supervises appropriate fundraising strategies to meet the financial goals of the School consistent with the strategic plan. Along with the Head of School, s/he is responsible for strengthening a positive public perception of North Cross in the community, communicating the mission and objectives of the school, building relationships with donors, and obtaining the financial support necessary to ensure a strong and vibrant future. S/he will also have the opportunity of building on the success and fundraising momentum achieved under the current Director who will be retiring at the end of this school year.
